With COVID-19 restrictions easing, the 88 members of the Middlesex High School (MHS) Class of 2021 will graduate as one group on Saturday, June 5, in the John S. Clements Memorial Gymnasium at MHS in Saluda.
With the governor’s change in social distancing and group size on May 28, all seniors will now graduate together starting at 10 a.m. Earlier graduation ceremony plans had divided the class into smaller groups with separate ceremonies, but that is not necessary now. Although COVID-19 cases are declining, current state regulations require masks be worn.
Each graduating senior will receive 10 tickets, and tickets must be presented at the door. The gym lobby doors open at 9 a.m. and seating is open on the gym floor and in the bleachers.
The ceremony will also be live streamed on the Internet on the MHS YouTube channel.
MHS principal Susan Fleet will deliver a brief address. School Superintendent Peter Gretz will pronounce the students as graduates at which time they turn their tassels.
