More qualify to run for Middlesex seats

On the ballot for the Nov. 2 General Election are the Saluda and Hartfield district seats on the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors and the Middlesex School Board. There is also a special election to choose a Middlesex Circuit Court clerk.

Don R. Harris of Stormont and Greg R. Chambers of Remlik have qualified as candidates running for the Saluda District seat on the Middlesex Board of Supervisors, reported Melissa D. Welch, Middlesex director of elections and general registrar. Current Saluda District representative Pete Mansfield has said he will not seek re-election.

Dana D. Burnett qualified for the Saluda District School Board seat.

Last week Rachel K. Hartenbach qualified as a candidate for Clerk of Court, special election. Hartenbach has been deputy clerk for several years and became the clerk of the court when Lynn Dunlevy retired in March.

The following have begun the candidacy process but have not filed all qualifying forms, said Welch.

Incumbent John B. Koontz Jr. for the Hartfield District Board of Supervisors; Pamela Burrell Pierce for the Hartfield District School Board seat; and Dana D. Burnett for the Saluda District School Board seat.
