A Middlesex County crash claimed the life of a Cooks Corner man Saturday.
Cornelius Keonte Owens, 25, was killed when the 2002 Jeep Cherokee he was driving ran off General Puller Highway (Route 33), struck a ditch and flipped multiple times, Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya said in a news release. Owens, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene from injuries in the 1:47 a.m. crash, which occurred east of Edgewater Road between Saluda and Locust Hill.
The release did not give a reason why the SUV left the roadway.
Owens lived in the 100 block of Urbanna Road.
