MHS tennis team wins five of seven sets

Middlesex High School’s girls tennis team won five of its seven singles sets during a special April 26 home scrimmage versus Mathews.

Leading the way for the Charger girls was Virginia Reinhardt, who defeated her Blue Devil girl opponent, 6-1. Other MHS winners were Maddie Hurd, 6-3; Katherine Brooke, 4-1; Chessa Lowery, 4-2; and Hunter Dunlevy, 4-1. MHS’s Makayla Seamster lost, 2-6; and Maddie Green fell, 0-8.

In doubles, the Charger girls Green-Reinhardt duo fell 4-6; and Hurd-Seamster also fell 4-6.

Coach Matthew Short’s girls next match is set for 4 p.m. May 6 at Northampton.
