Starting at 9 a.m. this Saturday, May 1, volunteers and staff of the Deltaville Maritime Museum will reopen their popular Holly Point Market with around 15 vendors of all descriptions. Saturday will also mark the reopening of the Deltaville Maritime Museum itself at 9 a.m., plus at 10 a.m., the return of Captain Pete Cardozo and his free Jackson Creek cruises. They leave from the “Pierwalk” on Mill Creek. Local musicians David Moran and Dave Theuerkauf will entertain from 10 a.m.-noon in the waterfront park. All cruises in 2021 will be on the museum’s newly acquired deadrise “Jennie May.”

As the COVID-19 numbers drop and restrictions are relaxed, volunteers and staff at the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park are busily preparing all their facilities to be safe, clean, and ready for the upcoming 2021 events season.

The museum and park currently have 14 vendors signed up and are still taking applications for the “soft” reopening of the market on May 1 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Any and all vendors who are interested in joining our market, please call the museum office and reserve your space. The number is 804-776-9738.

On opening weekend Saturday, May 1, we present our first “special performance” and our first-ever country music artist. The “Mike and Amy Aiken Band” will take the stage from 5:30-8 p.m. bringing the sound of Nashville with a creek view. Check out Mike, Amy, their music and albums at www.mikeaikenmusic.com. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20…
