
Peyton Lambert paces Chargers at tourney, finishes fourth in state

The Middlesex High School (MHS) golf team finished third as a team at the State 1A Virginia golf tournament on Monday at the Pete Dye River Golf Course in Radford.
The Chargers were paced by Peyton Lambert, who shot a 79 and finished fourth. Lambert was awarded a state medal as the top six golfers in the tournament win medals. Lambert improved his game by nine strokes over his 88 stroke finish in 2020. The MHS sophomore finished 14th in state last year.
Garrison Robins proved his talent as he tied for 14th with a score of 89, just one stroke off Lambert’s 88 score last year. Linton Robins finished 21st shooting 94; Hudson McMinn and Jackson Murray tied for 31st with 103; and Thomas Wilson tied for 32nd with a 115 score.
