Arts in the Middle Fine Arts Festival returning on June 5-6

Preparations for the seventh year of the Arts in the Middle (AIM) Fine Arts Festival are well under way, with plans to kick off the summer season at the “Rivah” with two days of cultural delights on June 5-6. As always, the festival is slated for the weekend after Memorial Day.

Fine arts booths, hospitality tents and music stages will be spaced under large  shade trees along the beautiful long entrance to Hewick Plantation, off Old Virginia Street just west of Urbanna. Expectations are that the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Traveling Art Gallery will visit for the weekend as well.

After a pandemic-imposed break in 2020, the all-volunteer AIM planning team is moving forward with the safely distanced outdoor show this year. This event’s success is attributed to many factors, but success can be underscored by the quality of artists the event attracts each year.  

The AIM festival is a great example of volunteer community effort…
