Middlesex Broadband Authority (MBA) has been awarded an $882,935 Virginia Telecommunication Initiative (VATI) grant to extend broadband to areas in the county closely located to where Atlantic Broadband (ABB) services end.
The grant was part of a $20.1 million statewide project to service 11 projects throughout the state of Virginia. On March 18, Gov. Ralph Northam announced the grant awards to improve broadband infrastructure in 17 localities.
Middlesex’s portion of the grant will serve 142 new households and has to be completed in 18 months by ABB…
