Osprey couple Tony and Tina returned this week to their nest high above Wilton Creek near Hartfield, reports Cate Ogden, who lives nearby. The migratory birds likely spend their winters in Florida or Mexico, then return near the start of spring, which is this Saturday, March 20. They’ve been returning to the same nest for about the last six years, Ogden said. They “evicted” a flock of Canada geese that had taken up residence there and were still there last week. A heron and eagle also used the nest some over the winter. Ogden hopes the ospreys will start a new family this season. (Photo by Cate Ogden)
