Chargers defeat West Point and Rappahannock

The Middlesex High School Lady Charger varsity volleyball team is 5-0, with wins over West Point and regional powerhouse Rappahannock.
On Thursday, March 11, Middlesex easily handled visiting West Point 25-4, 25-11 and 25-12. Aniyah Thompson’s serves were on target as she led the way serving 30 times at 100% accuracy with 11 aces. Airiana Beverley also had 11 kills, four aces and four digs.
Laura Walton recorded 22 assists, five aces and three digs. Ellie McMinn had four kills and served at 100% with one ace. Ella Hodges had three kills and one block. Lilly Taylor and Delaney Ruark both had two kills.
On Monday, March 15, Middlesex had to battle back against a tough Rappahannock. After dropping game one 25-19, Middlesex rebounded with three wins 25-16, 25-16 and 25-21 to take the match.
Middlesex defeated King William on March 16. The score was unavailable at press time.
Middlesex’s match against Lancaster, set for Thursday, March 18, will be away. Middlesex hosts King and Queen on Monday, March 22, at 6 p.m. and is at Mathews on Tuesday, March 23 at 6 p.m.
