Middlesex school board also OK’d cross country and golf

Sports, including volleyball, golf and cross country, will return to Middlesex High School (MHS) in March after nearly a year’s absence due to COVID-19.
The varsity volleyball team will open a 12-game season on March 1 against King William at Saluda. The time is to be determined. There will not be a JV team.
Golf opens on March 1 and cross country starts March 3.
At press time, whether spectators would be allowed in the gym for volleyball was still a matter waiting to be officially decided by the Middlesex County Public School Board at an upcoming meeting.
The Lady Chargers will build on their success in the 2019 season. For the first time in 25 years, the 2019 Lady Chargers volleyball team (21-3) was the regular season Tidewater District champion. The Lady Chargers also won the Tidewater District Tournament, and placed second to Rappahannock in the Region A Tournament…
