E-books and digital magazines are available at MC libraries

by Carrie Dos Santos –

As the year 2021 continues, the staff of the Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) system continues to see increasing usage of MCPL’s e-books and e-audiobooks. Recent changes among the Library’s e-book vendors, though, has made borrowing e-books, e-audiobooks, and now digital magazines easier than ever before. MCPL invites all readers to take full advantage of the thousands of digital titles available to borrow with a library card from the Middlesex County Public Library system.

In late 2020, MCPL’s two e-book platforms merged. Now, all e-books, e-audiobooks, and digital magazines are available on the Overdrive platform and through the Libby mobile app. Users can go to the Library’s website at www.yourmiddlesexlibrary.org to begin.

Once on the website, go to the menu “Read & Listen,” then choose “Overdrive.”

  • For children — “National Geographic Kids,” “Highlights,” and “Girls’ Life”
  • For crafting — “Simply Knitting,” “McCall’s Quilting,” and “Woodcraft Magazine”
  • For celebrity gossip — “Us Weekly,” “Vogue,” and “Star Magazine”
  • For sports and fitness — “Black Belt Magazine,” “Runner’s World,” and “Fishing World”

Also, these digital magazines look just like the print editions: they display in full color and include all advertisements.
