Betty Pinchefsky Memorial Fund will benefit MC Public Library

The Friends of the Deltaville Library took time last week to honor Deltaville’s Lina Lee Butler, center, for her 10 years plus of service as a member and treasurer of the Friends Board. She provided a steady hand over the years and has been a long time supporter of the library. Co-presidents Pat Anderson, left, and Melissa MacKimm flank her as they present a gift of appreciation for Lina Lee’s years of dedication. (Contributed)

by Tom Samuel –

The Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) system is pleased and grateful to announce the establishment of the Betty Pinchefsky Memorial Fund through the generosity of Betty’s daughter, Janice Terpenny. Ms. Terpenny has chosen to honor her mother’s memory in this manner in recognition of Betty’s longstanding commitment to the MCPL.

Poised, knowledgeable, gracious and kind, Betty Pinchefsky presided at the circulation desk of MCPL’s Deltaville branch as a volunteer and occasional staff person for more than two decades. She gave her time and considerable energy to the library unstintingly.

She herself was an avid reader, and she was committed to making the public library a strong and vital part of this community to the benefit of everyone. Betty particularly enjoyed helping children find books to encourage and facilitate a love for reading…
