The Rappahannock Industrial Academy Alumni Association is seeking applicants for its annual scholarships. The scholarships are open to qualifying African-American students residing in Middlesex, Essex or King and Queen counties. Students may attend public or private school. These scholarships continue the legacy of the Rappahannock Industrial Academy, a Baptist-run high school for African-Americans. Located in Essex County, it was in operation from 1902 through 1948.
For the class of 2021, one scholarship in the amount of $2,100 will be awarded to a student from each county. These scholarship awards will be renewable for up to three additional years. Eligible applicants must plan to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college…
