Following last week’s spotlight on new books at the Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) system’s Deltaville and Urbanna branches, now we turn to new DVDs that are available to be checked out. Below are a few noteworthy titles:
- “Vienna Blood” is a PBS miniseries set at the beginning of the 20th century in Vienna, Austria. This popular historical mystery series follows a detective and a student of psychologist Sigmund Freud as they uncover murder mysteries in the European capital.
- “Harriet” is based on the life of abolitionist Harriet Tubman. The film depicts the events leading up to Tubman becoming the most well-known conductor of the Underground Railroad.
- “Grant” is a miniseries from the History Channel documenting the life and deeds of Ulysses S. Grant, Union general and 18th president of the United States.
- MCPL has also received new DVDs for children, including specials featuring Curious George and Pororo the Little Penguin.
Library users can find these DVDs and many more at the Middlesex Library’s branches in both Urbanna and Deltaville. Contact the Middlesex County public libraries at 804-758-5717 or 804-776-7362, or at www.yourmiddlesexlibrary.org for information.
