A proposed mural to honor African-American history in Middlesex County to be painted on the side of the Middlesex County Public Schools bus maintenance garage shop building at Cooks Corner has stalled.
During his presentation in July, Koontz said that if the wooden building is moved across the street, the concrete bus shop facing General Puller Highway (Route 33) would be in clear view from vehicles passing by and a historical mural would provide a “positive educational/artistic image of the county’s African-American history for everyone to see.”
Since then, due to COVID-19, the two business owners who had agreed to partner with the county on the revitalization project pulled out of the agreement. The Middlesex County Economic Development Authority is currently seeking new developers…
