A meeting with an Atlantic Broadband (ABB) official concerning the firm’s efforts to provide reliable customer service during this COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (MCBS) acceptance, for now, that the firm is trying to improve.
At the MCBS meeting Tuesday, Dec. 1, Pinetop District Representative Lud Kimbrough informed the board that he and Hartfield Representative John Koontz had met earlier with an ABB regional representative concerning the firm’s “terrible” customer service.
Kimbrough explained that the representative stated due to COVID-19 in April, ABB had a 50% increase in demand for service and in customer complaint inquiries.
Kimbrough said he was told ABB has recently hired 30 new employees to work in its customer service department and has installed a new automatic call-back service system.
Saluda District Supervisor Pete Mansfield asked what was the status for reopening the Cooks Corner regional ABB office. The 126 Urbanna Road building has been closed since COVID-19 started…
