Yule-theme fun brightens Urbanna, Deltaville weekend

Love4Kids Foundation Founder-Director Joe Hogge of Hartfield portrays a Christmas elf Saturday as he welcomes the dozens of families arriving for the foundation’s special drive-by visit with Santa. The jolly gent from the North Pole sat in a Middlesex County Volunteer Fire Department fire truck parked in the parking area just west of the Urbanna firehouse. (Photo by Don Richeson)

“Elf Marcy,” left, and Santa Claus wave to the folks that came out to see them leave the Deltaville firehouse Sunday evening riding in Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department’s big Ladder 46 fire truck. In the background is the LMVFD Auxiliary’s Love Lights tree, which is on display in front of the firehouse. The truck took the pair all around Deltaville and Hardyville so as many children as possible could see Santa, who even rode some of the way seated on the moving truck’s front bumper. Santa hugs Tucker, a 2-year-old “Morkie” that was handed up to him during his Love4Kids visit Saturday. Tucker is the pet of Christy Hogge of Hartfield, who portrayed an elf at the event. (Photo by Don Richeson)
