“Firm” price sought for MES units

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (MCBS) has given permission for the Middlesex County School Board (MCSB) to start the procurement process to obtain a firm price on the cost of installing new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) rooftop units at Middlesex Elementary School (MES) in Locust Hill.

At the supervisors meeting in November, Superintendent Peter Gretz informed the board that two years ago five of the six HVAC units at MES reached “end-of-life” cycles.

Dr. Gretz said that replacement of HVAC units at MES had been approved in capital improvement plans by both supervisors and school board, but “had not been funded.”
