County receives $1 million grant for bike and foot path along Gen. Puller Highway

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (MCBS) learned at its Dec. 1 meeting that the county has been awarded an 80/20 matching grant amounting to $1 million to install a multimodal transportation project in Deltaville.
The $1 million proposed matching grant will build a 10- to 12-foot wide bicycle and pedestrian (multi-use) trail along a two-mile stretch of General Puller Highway (Route 33) in Deltaville. The trail will run from Stingray Point Marina to the Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department building.
Supervisors have suggested it will apply for a phase two grant that would carry paths from the firehouse to Deltaville Market in Hardyville…
