Santa will ride through Deltaville on fire truck Dec. 6

(Editor’s note: The following story was inadvertently omitted from the Sentinel’s Dec. 3 print edition.)

Decked out in his green elf suit, then-4-month-old Easton had no reservations about meeting Santa during the 2019 annual Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department Love Light Tree Celebration at the Deltaville firehouse. While COVID-19 concerns prevent an up-close Santa Deltaville firehouse visit this year, children can still see Santa as he rides through Deltaville on a fire truck Sunday, Dec. 6. The Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (LMVFD) Auxiliary has arranged for Santa to ride atop a fire truck through Deltaville and Hardyville. He will leave the Deltaville firehouse at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 and travel along Lovers Lane, North End Road, Delta Shores’ roads, Crittenden Road and roads in Chick Cove, Belle Aire and Wild Goose, according to LMVFD Auxiliary President  Bonnie Armentrout. He will make two 45-minute loops.

Good viewing spots are along General Puller Highway (Route 33) between Deltaville and Hardyville. There is ample parking at Hurds Hardware, the parking lot by Deltaville’s tennis courts and the firehouse.

“Don’t forget. It is not too late to contribute to Love Lights and the annual LMVFD fund drive,“ Armentrout said. She also encourages folks to check out the beautiful Love Lights tree set up in front of the Deltaville firehouse.
