Following standard construction technique for all deadrises, Deltaville Maritime Museum’s 16-foot Hull 103, upon completion of her bottom, has been turned 180 degrees to begin milling and assembly of her ribs, side planking, coaming and decking. Boat Shop Director John England, right, is using a metal square to mark rib locations as volunteer Roland Anderson cleans dust out of the bottom in preparation for the application of sealer.
Progress on Hull 103 can be viewed through large windows in the boat shop all through the holidays, if the volunteers are not on site. Museum appointments can be made by calling 804-776-7200. (Photo by Bill Powell)
