MC supervisors want action from Atlantic Broadband

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (MCBS) agreed on Nov. 4 at the board’s regular monthly meeting to have County Administrator Matt Walker “reach out” to Atlantic Broadband (ABB) management in an effort to resolve customer service complaints.

The board also directed County Attorney Heather Lewis to review the franchise agreement between the county and ABB for consideration of legal options should discussion with ABB prove ineffective.

ABB is the main provider of broadband Internet in the county and at the MCBS October board meeting, Pinetop District Supervisor Lud Kimbrough said he had received complaints from citizens about “poor” broadband service and that customer service has been “terrible.”

Due to COVID-19, ABB’s regional office at Cooks Corner has been closed since the pandemic started…
