The annual Urbanna Hometown Christmas Parade and events associated with the event have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, said Parade Director Lois Jean Brooks.
The decision not to present the annual Christmas parade comes on the heels of the Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation canceling the festival and Urbanna Town Council voting to eliminate house-to-house trick-or-treating in town on Halloween.
Other events that are happening are the fourth annual Urbanna Christmas Pet Parade set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. It’s mostly for Yule-costumed dogs, but some years miniature horses have participated. To participate, meet at 291 Virginia St. at 9:15 a.m. and sign up. There is no charge…
