Christ Church Parish hosts pet-blessing event

Christ Church Parish (Episcopal) observed the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with an Oct. 4 blessing of the animals service in the church parking lot. This was the first in-person service conducted at the church since the COVID-19 pandemic put everything on hold in mid-March. It was a beautiful morning and everyone was so glad to see each other, organizers said.

There were 15 dogs and 20 persons in attendance. Normally this service takes place in the church during the regular 10:30 a.m. service with heads peering over the tops of pews or sticking out into the aisle trying to see all…
