The Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park will begin the process of reopening safely during the current phase of COVID-19. The museum will welcome members in good standing and their guests to visit the museum and view the exhibits, access the Coe Library and the gift shop. The museum is located at 287 Jackson Creek Road in Deltaville.

Visits to the museum can be arranged by calling Kristen DeGraw at 804-384-1310 or 804-776-7200. Only one group will be allowed in the museum at a time.

The safety and health of visitors and staff is of first priority for the museum and board.

Visitors will be required to wear masks at all times while in the museum and wash and sanitize their hands on admittance. The museum will have a “hands off” policy during this reopening.

Admittance limits for visits will be set by staff based on availability. As several visits may be scheduled on a given day, there may be time limits. All phase three restrictions will be followed.

Appointments must be made by museum members. To bring guests your membership must be a “Family” membership or higher. The sponsoring member must be part of the visiting group. Staff will need a count on group attendance as there may be size limits. Individual members are welcome to schedule appointments.

One-year memberships to the museum, at all levels, can be purchased online on our website found below on the “Join Us” tab.

This is the museum’s first step in its effort to re-open. As this is new to us as it is to you, we appreciate you working with us as we work out any kinks. As we gain experience in operation and safety under COVID-19 we are hoping to be able to work out safe ways to expand our opening.

Please watch the Southside Sentinel or our website for any changes. We will follow all Virginia COVID-19 regulation changes as they occur.

Holly Point Nature Park continues to be open dawn to dusk every day. The public is encouraged to come out, exercise, play, take Nature Trails and otherwise enjoy the 30-acre park. An outside hand washing station is available for all visitors located at the entrance to the Waterfront Park at Mill Creek.

Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park is located in Deltaville at 287 Jackson Creek Road, and by water  on Mill Creek. To get to the Museum and Park, follow General Puller Highway (Route 33) through Deltaville and turn right across from the Citgo convenience store. Boat and maritime equipment donations are welcome.
