The Piankatank River Ladies Golf Association (PRLGA) conducted its annual championship tournament Oct. 7 and 8. Twenty-one members participated in the 36-hole tournament on two beautiful fall days. “We thank the Piankatank River Golf Course staff, especially John Abbott and Kim Healey, for their hard work in helping things to run smoothly,” said a PRLGA rep.
Tournament results include, overall gross, Nina Carter; and overall net, Chrystal Welch.
First flight results include, first gross, Regina Custis; second gross, Gloria Matthews; first net, Christy Pitts; and second net, Judy Spain.
Second flight results include, first gross, Lisa Lavery; second gross, Bobbie Stuck; first net, Kim Harris; and second net, Ann Stanley.
Third flight results include, first gross, Chong Hudgins; second gross, Donna Lange; first net, Carol Sennott; and second net, Lynne Richardson.
Closest to the line results include, first flight, Christy Pitts; second flight, Ann Stanley; and third flight, Bev Hudgins.
Wednesday closest to the pin results include, first flight, Vicky Gunn; and third flight, Donna Lange.
Thursday closest to the pin results include, first flight, Judy Spain; second flight, Kim Harris; and third flight, Lynne Richardson.
PRLGA plays 18-hole contest Thursdays
The Piankatank River Ladies Golf Association (PRLGA) plays an 18-hole competition on Thursdays, from April through October, at the Piankatank River Golf Course in Hartfield. Membership in the group is open to all women. Play consists of a 9 a.m. shotgun start and a variety of games.
Many players enjoy staying for lunch and the awarding of prizes when play is finished.
There is also a nine-hole group on Wednesdays at Piankatank River Golf Course. Players meet at the course at 9:45 a.m. for tee times starting at 10 a.m. Cards are drawn to determine who plays together, so it’s a good opportunity to meet other golfers and play different games.
