MIDDLESEX ARMY WINS LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

Middlesex Army went undefeated over the last two weeks to win the championship of the Summer 241 Baseball League.

Army went 4-0 in the double elimination tournament and beat Lancaster Navy, 13-3, in the final at Deltaville Ballpark Sept. 16.

En route to the tourney final, Middlesex Army picked up an 11-10 win over Gloucester Coast Guard, an 11-4 win over Lancaster and a 6-5 win over Rappahannock Space Force.

The seven-team league, organized by Middlesex County’s Joey Fitchett, conducted regular season games in July and August at Dream Fields in Kilmarnock and Deltaville Ballpark.
