Piankatank boaters invited to join Sept. 5 Trump parade

Boaters in the area are invited to be part of a parade, Saturday, Sept. 5, on the Piankatank River to pay tribute to President Donald Trump, celebrating his accomplishments and his bid for re-election in 2020.

Boaters will gather up-river on the Piankatank near the Mariners Woods boat ramp beginning at 2:45 p.m. with the parade to get under way at 3 p.m. The parade route will head toward the Piankatank Golf Course with a turn-about before going under the bridge for a parade hurrah at Fishing Bay.

Sailors whose masts are too tall to go under the Piankatank River Bridge are encouraged to gather near the mouth of Wilton Creek and join the parade as it moves downriver.

Everyone is encouraged to decorate their boats in support of President Trump or wave flags and banners from docks and yards along the shore.

The rain date will be Sunday, Sept. 6, at 3 p.m.
