Paul Mark Tyler, 64, of Lancaster County, passed away on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Mark Tyler; and his grandparents, Paul and Ruth Pruitt, all of Urbanna, and formerly of Tangier Island.
He is survived by his mother, June Tyler Crockett of Arizona, formerly of Williamsburg; two sisters, Dawn Kemp and her husband Larry of Red Lion, Pa., and Ruth Preddy and her husband Mark of New River, Ariz. He will also be remembered lovingly by his nieces, Brittney Kemp Ruby, Maria Preddy and Melanie Preddy. Other survivors include his aunts, Edwina Humphries Crockett and her husband Jimmy of Irvington, and Diane Pruitt and her husband Bill of Williamsburg; many cousins that he loved dearly; his life partner, Mary C. Wheeler of Lancaster, and her son Charlie; and his former wife, Lori Tyler of Northumberland.
He was a graduate of the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science. However, he chose to teach Earth Science to ninth graders in Lancaster County and Richmond County. He was known to his students as “Mr. T” and had many of his former students on Facebook as friends. He had many friends and will be missed by all.
The services will be private. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
