God has gone to great lengths to help us live wisely, and the book of Proverbs is replete with the necessary guidance to accomplish wisdom and not foolishness. But, there are questions that we have to ask ourselves as we study the Proverbs:
Will we be foolish, or wise, in our relationship with the Lord?
Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God …’ ”
Biblically, a fool is someone who is morally deficient. The man or woman described here wants no authority in their lives and has a rebellious spirit.
Proverbs 10:23 says, “A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct, but a man of understanding delights in wisdom.”
This verse tells us that doing wrong is like a joke to a fool. Whenever we refuse to listen to the truth, then our own appetites become our masters, and we will do anything to satisfy our appetites. But, that same verse in Proverbs 10, says that, to a man of understanding, having wisdom is pleasing…
