Urbanna resident earns new Chesapeake Academy role

Kim Dynia

Chesapeake Academy Director of Curriculum and Instruction Kim Dynia, an Urbanna resident, just completed a comprehensive course called Tech to Learn, led by the author of “Ditch that Textbook and Tech Like A Pirate,” Matt Miller. This latest course is one of many Dynia has embraced as she rolls out a flexible plan for curriculum and instruction in a challenging year.

New to this role, Dynia is busily supporting the faculty as they address instructional challenges associated with COVID-19 uncertainty. She is quarterbacking the transition to a blended model of instructional delivery that will allow Irvington-based Chesapeake Academy to provide continuity of instruction regardless of where students need to be. Dynia is also coaching the adoption of a new learning management system, Canvas, that will offer a flexible platform for teachers, students, and families to access necessary academic resources.
