The Deltaville Maritime Museum’s casual outdoor concert series will open at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 25, with local favorite folk artist Paige Melton opening for the Richmond-based dance band, Soul Expressions, which plays from 6-8 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m.
Soul Expressions is a high energy band that performs Motown, reggae, funk rock, new and old R&B. If there were one word to describe Soul Expressions, it would be “presence.” From the minute this dynamic party band takes the stage, you’ll realize that this is a group at the very top of its game.
I know we were all looking forward to the Steve Bassett Band’s “Woodstock” performance, but COVID-19 limitations made its necessary rehearsals impossible and its members had to cancel. We have postponed the band’s concert until 2021.
Paige Melton plays the hits. She’s toured all across Virginia and Maryland, strumming for clubs and coffee houses and concert venues throughout the region.
As this opening show is no longer a “special performance,” regular tickets will be accepted.
Due to virus concerns we will limit tickets to all shows this year. There may be sellouts. Tickets may only be purchased online or in advance. There will be no tickets sold at the door.
The second Groovin’, which is a “special performance,” is scheduled for the following weekend, Aug. 1, 5-8 p.m.
We know that everyone is more than ready to get outside and enjoy both the park and the music. We ask all of you who plan to come to please be aware of the personal space of others, and help us make this a fun outdoor experience…
