The bats of the Deltaville Deltas baseball team stayed as hot as the daytime temperatures this past weekend. The Deltas smacked a combined 30 hits in two games as they routed the Richmond Mets 19-2, and pulled away in the ninth inning of a back and forth game to defeat Tappahannock 13-8.

Deltaville moves to 5-0 in league play, and 6-1 overall, a half game ahead of 4-0 Richmond Team Woody. Up next for the Deltas will be a 7:30 p.m. home game against the 3-2 Richmond El Heaters on Saturday night. On Sunday, a rematch with Team Woody will take place at 2 p.m. at Richmond’s Dorey Park.
