Chesapeake Academy celebrated Jackson Pyles who earned the Class of 2020’s Salutatorian Award for achieving the second highest academic average in grade eight at the school’s recent commencement exercises. All award recipients also meet or exceed expectations for conduct and work habits. Jackson is the son of Kim and Donald Pyles of Middlesex County.
Layla Leo, daughter of Ben and Lauren Leo of Lancaster County, earned Chesapeake Academy’s Head of School Award for achieving the highest grade point average in the eighth grade class. The recipient of this award must also meet or exceed standards for conduct, citizenship, and work habits.
Irvington-based Chesapeake Academy, which has many students from Middlesex County, is an accredited, independent pre-kindergarten three and four through eighth grade school that values and embraces cultural and economic diversity. Extended care is available till 5:30 p.m., and 47 percent of current families access the financial aid that is available.
