
Virginians are now in phase three of the governor’s plan to reopen the commonwealth. My denomination is now in “stage two” of the bishop’s plan to reopen our congregations.
Some use the language of “journey” to describe these days. But what a strange journey it has been, with odd stages on the way, and one none of us would have chosen.
Our journey to reopen a society abruptly halted by a deadly virus has been a messy one. Some are now warning that our progress is in jeopardy. Could our journey be stopped in its tracks again? Where is it leading us? Will we be the same people when we arrive at our destination?
