MIDDLESEX, VA –
From Lauren Wood:
“K. LaMar Gresham and I are organizing the Middlesex Black Lives Matter March for Justice this Sunday, June 7 in cooperation with the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors and the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.
“The peaceful protest will begin at noon at Middlesex High School and march to the Middlesex County Historic Courthouse on the eastern side. Rev. K. LaMar Gresham and Dr. Leonard Edloe will deliver remarks.
“The Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office will assist parking cars at Middlesex High School, as well as march with the protesters. Also, a police car will both lead and follow the march, per Sheriff Bushey.
”Citizens are asked to please wear face masks and practice social distancing. Please plan to participate peacefully in chants and bring signs if you so desire.
”Citizens unable to march are welcome to join directly at the courthouse. Chilled water bottles will be available at the courthouse. Limited public transportation will be available to return anyone to the high school, as needed.
”Further questions may be directed to K. LaMar Gresham at 804-445-5851 or Lauren Wood at 804-815-3373.
“It is our hope to help Middlesex voices be heard in a peaceful, thoughtful show of solidarity.“
