The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors approved on May 7 a $26,715,638 FY-21 budget with no tax increases, using $567,638 from the county’s “rainy day” fund to balance the budget and also voted to advertise for a public hearing on the collection of the transient occupancy (lodging) tax starting July 1.
Bare bones budget
Supervisors approved this “bare bones” FY-21 budget as a way, in part, to help county citizens get through the coronavirus pandemic that has crippled the nation’s economy and left many people without jobs. FY-21 refers to the fiscal year — the period between July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.
School budget approved
