Irvington’s vineyard, The Dog and Oyster Vineyard, has launched a fundraising drive to help the needy and hungry in six surrounding counties, including Middlesex County. The other counties are Lancaster, Northumberland, Essex, Richmond and Westmoreland.

The Dog and Oyster is donating $5 of every bottle sold to Warsaw’s Healthy Harvest Food Bank, who will use these funds to buy food to those in need in neighboring communities. Healthy Harvest is now feeding 12,000 people every month. This is expected to climb even more.

The Dog and Oyster, by the governor’s order, is limited to bottle sales and curb service. SIP, its tasting room; and, SLURP, its oyster stand, are temporarily closed to wine and oyster guests. Bottle sales are permitted ergo the means for the vineyard to survive this depression and give back to support the community’s most vulnerable.
