Usually taking place this weekend to fanfare is the annual throwing out of the first pitch and opening day ceremonies of the Middlesex County Little League (MCLL) at the Middlesex Sports Complex in Locust Hill.
Unfortunately, the ceremony and start of the season will be delayed this year as the entire United States of America is contending with the coronavirus pandemic.
The MCLL website states the board of directors is monitoring the COVID-19 situation as “it pertains to the spring season, although it may be considerably shorter.”
“We cannot make any announcements prior to the governor lifting the shelter-in-place order currently in effect through June 10,” it states.
