Hartfield’s Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club is offering free “golf croquet” lessons this Sunday, April 26. Official play starts at 2 p.m., but you can come at 1 p.m. if you’d like some instruction.
No special attire is needed and the club has the equipment you need. No pre-registration is needed, just show up. Beginners will be paired with more experienced players.
“Please stay six feet apart,” Club President Macey White told participants while leading one of the club’s free Sunday classes earlier this month. “Move the balls around as much as you can with your mallet.”
“Social distancing while playing croquet is easy,” a club news release said. “This activity meets all of the Centers for Disease Control and the governor’s requirements for COVID-19 safety.”
The club is at 1860 Twiggs Ferry Road.
