The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors voiced concerns at a budget work session on Friday, April 17, on when area campgrounds will start taking reservations.
Due to the coronavirus, Bethpage Camp Resort in Urbanna and Grey’s Point Camp in Topping volunteered in March to not accept reservations until the end of April.
Hartfield representative John Koontz noted that the April 30 opening date for the two largest campgrounds in Middlesex is right here and the impact of COVID-19 in the State of Virginia has not peaked.
He suggested further negotiation with campground owners and by delaying collection of lodging taxes…
