Recently I saw a memorable TV commercial. With a backdrop of rain falling over the leaves of a tree, complete with sound effects, the silent caption read, “Do nothing for 30 seconds.” That got my attention.
I waited for a voice to break the silence, but it didn’t happen. When it was over, the message seemed clear: in an age of heightened anxiety, some of us seek to clear and redirect our troubled minds, and to help others do the same.
It is tempting to let our minds become consumed by the troubles of this time. When we do, it impacts not only our present behavior…
