Access further restricted to beach, campgrounds

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the county-owned Canoe House Landing Beach in the Jamaica community is closed to the public and four private campgrounds in Middlesex have agreed to delay openings.

Supervisors closed the public Canoe House beach last week and on April 1 sent letters to owners of private campgrounds asking them to delay opening.

Bush Park Camping Resort in Wake agreed to “temporarily close per instruction from Middlesex County and as a precaution due to COVID-19.” On the campground website it stated, “We look forward to seeing everyone once this national crisis subsides.”
