On February 29 the 2020 Middlesex Mardi Gras was celebrated at Bethpage Camp-Resort near Urbanna in royal fashion by 250 spirited guests. It was an early sell-out! Middlesex natives Art and Michelle Hudgins, the 2020 Middlesex Mardi Gras King and Queen, presided over the event that raised more than $60,000, all of which will support Middlesex youth served by the Middlesex YMCA and the Middlesex Kiwanis Club.
Dancing, feasting, silent and live auctions entertained participants all night long. One of many live auction skirmishes was a bidding war to see who could raise the most money—waged between an offer of a river cruise on the Rappahannock River, and another contribution…
