The Middlesex High School (MHS) Chargers wrestling team had 10 wrestlers and two alternates qualify for the State 1A wrestling meet to be held this Friday and Saturday, February 21-22, at the Salem Civic Center in Roanoke.
At the Region A/B meet at Riverheads High School this past weekend, Middlesex wrestlers finished fifth in the team competition.
The top six individuals in each weight class qualified for the state meet.
Others to qualify were Lakin Millen, who took fourth place in the 106-pound class; Thomas Wilson, fourth, 120-pound class; Brayden Deel, fourth, 182-pound class; and Andrew Gwyn, fourth, 285-pound class.
