Jeffrey “Scott” White

Jeffrey “Scott” White, 50, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, died suddenly on January 18, 2020. The funeral service was held Saturday, January 25, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Mich., officiated by Pastor Steve Wood. Cremation took place following the service.

Scott was born in Newport News on November 30, 1969, the son of James and Roberta (Ewing) White. He graduated from Middlesex High School in Saluda. Scott served in the U.S. Army, attending the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, where he became proficient in the Korean language. He then served as an electronic warfare voice interceptor and linguist in the Republic of Korea. Scott attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a major in history and a minor in international studies.

On October 9, 2004 he married Heather Webb in Richmond. They also lived in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, before moving to Grand Blanc. Scott had a lifelong passion for soccer and for history, especially military history. He loved reading and traveling and spending time with his family, especially his two boys.

Surviving are his wife, Heather Webb; sons, Aidan and Liam; father, James (Valerie) White; mother, Roberta Moss; brother, Christopher (Kristen) White; sister, Jennifer White; stepsisters, Leola (Gretchen) Moss, Emily (Josh) Purdum and Sarah Gathright; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.     

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Betty Ewing, and Stanley and Marie White; and stepfather, John Moss.
