Middlesex School Superintendent Dr. Peter Gretz told the county school board on January 13 that state revenues for the 2020-21 (FY21) Middlesex County school budget may increase by $400,000.
On the downside, Dr. Gretz said his “high level [needs] list” to operate the schools next year comes to $529,900. He made it clear that the $529,900 figure “is not a recommendation,” but simply a list.
The process for planning the FY21 budget starts this month as budget committees start to meet. A joint work session with the board of supervisors to discuss school funding is planned in February.
