Christmas Pet Parade brings nearly 60 pets to Urbanna

Pets and their owners socialize on the Urbanna town green, waiting for the judge to announce the results of the Third Annual Urbanna Christmas Children and Pet Parade. The winners were rewarded with stuffed teddies and tasty dog treats, which were jointly sponsored by the Middlesex Kiwanis, Urbanna Business Association, and Urbanna Beautification Committee. Nearly 60 pets brought their humans to the 3rd Annual Urbanna Children and Pet Parade on December 21. With tails wagging, “man’s best friends” were in dog heaven as they led their owners down Virginia Street to the town green, where the furry friends socialized and were recognized with gifts and awards sponsored by the Middlesex Kiwanis Club, Urbanna Beautification Committee and Urbanna Business Association.

The winners were:

Most beautiful: Ellie; Vicki Satterwhite.
Most traditional: Squeaky, Laney, Guy and Izzy; Elizabeth Campbell.
Most original: Teddy Bear; Dixie Doerr.
Biggest: Kaleigha; Rachel Pitts.
Smallest: Timmy; Mayor Dianne Gravatt.
Cutest: Emmy; Robin Franklin.
Best behaved: Gilbert Gang; Tammy-Lynn Gilbert.
Funniest: Rosetta; Linda Conaway.

Children winners include:

Smallest: Liah and Margo Skelton.
Most traditional: Georgia Worley.
Cutest: Sarah and Lauren Ahnemann.
