The 6th Annual Steamboat Era Museum Holiday Marketplace ends on Saturday, December 21. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m. all Christmas items and some regular gift shop pieces will be 50% off. Although not on sale, there is still a good selection of artisan work including jewelry, ornaments, wood-cutting boards and bowls, baskets and unique oyster knives for one-of-a-kind holiday gifts.
A limited edition of the museum’s newest publication, “Steam-Driven. How Steamboats Shaped the Future of Virginia’s Northern Neck,” is available exclusively at the marketplace and online at steamboateramuseum.org. It covers the Steamboat Era, the Steamer Potomac and the history and restoration of the Potomac pilothouse. The 88-page, hard-covered, heavily-illustrated, coffee table book was made possible by grants from River Counties Community Foundation and Chesapeake Bank.
